PrivateerSufficient force

Wargames that train decisions against an adversary who adapts.

Privateer designs, builds and runs decision-training wargames for contested environments: logistics, maritime, cyber and homeland operations. A small team, short lead times, and a working product you can play today.

“Arrived at this place after a cruize of 5 months, and being chased during that time thirty four times, by frigates and men-of war brigs, but always out sailed them.”

Capabilities

We deliver working wargames in weeks, not program cycles, and we price them to be run again and again rather than once.

Wargame design and development

Browser-based campaigns built on open-source material, from scenario concept through play-tested release. Nothing to install on government networks.

Adversary modeling

An authored, deterministic adversary that responds to player decisions. Every behavior is sourced, auditable and reproducible, so an instructor can explain exactly why a player lost.

Facilitation and after-action review

Guided sessions for cohorts, with a debrief that shows the picture each player held beside what was actually there. The gap between the two is the lesson.

Custom scenarios

New theaters and mission sets built on the same engine, including domestic infrastructure and homeland scenarios. A new theater is a new threat set, not a new system.

Games of War

The decision-training platform Privateer builds with its partners.

Players command a force through a multi-turn campaign while the adversary adapts to what they do. Deception, cyber effects and pressure on the population shape what players can see, and the after-action report reconstructs every decision against ground truth.

Four campaigns are live today across maritime and ground operations, with an instructor dashboard for running cohorts.
